DISSIPATOR PARK

Public BBQ

A large picnic ground directly below the Wyangala Dam wall on the Lachlan, with a fabulous view up at the wall and a wide grass oval for children and dogs to run on. There are multiple electric barbecues with picnic tables and benches, a toilet block and plenty of parking, with wheelchair access to the barbecue area. There is no children's play equipment. Maintenance is the sore point: reports of barbecues not working and tables and amenities needing a clean are common, though others have found it spotless, so it varies. The drive in is sealed the whole way and pretty. The dam wall itself is closed to vehicles and open to pedestrians only, through a gate too narrow for a wheelchair or pram.

Generally, it is permissible to utilize your own gas BBQ, provided it remains under continuous supervision. However, the usage of Charcoal BBQ's is typically restricted, with the exception of parks equipped with designated charcoal disposal bins.
